Richard Pomeyie

Environment Advisor

Richard Pomeyie is an environmental activist and communication designer with over six years of experience in advocacy, community mobilization, and designing communication strategies for environmental movements and organizations. With his creative design, digital mobilizing skills, and knowledge of design, he has designed and led campaigns and community-based resilience projects that have influenced Government policy and decision-making.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, specializing in Public Relations, from the Ghana Institute of Journalism. He also completed an HND in Commercial Arts in Graphics Design at Takoradi Polytechnic.

As the National Coordinator of the Ghana Youth Environmental Movement (GYEM), Richard demonstrated exceptional leadership in designing a youth training program called the Ghana Youth Environmental Programme (GYEP). He oversaw its successful implementation, training and mentoring up to 300 youth during the COVID pandemic. Under his guidance, the organization’s presence expanded significantly, attracting local and international media attention. Richard’s deep understanding of climate change, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable practices enables him to effectively articulate the urgency of climate action and inspire others to join the cause through the design and implementation of projects that address the global crisis. During this period, he also acquired a Certificate of Participation in a Co-creation lab on sustainability, resilience, and Innovation from CIVICUS Youth Action Lab.

Richard has a proven track record of success, having created, and implemented over 500 digital graphic design projects from concept through completion. He has worked with organizations such as CIVICUS Global Alliance, A Rocha Ghana, RCS Africa, AddWills Foods and Beverages, and Sesi Technologies.
