Rebecca Commey

Co-Founder and Head of Purpose & Culture

Rebecca Commey completed a degree in International Hospitality and Marketing Management in the UK. She then spent time in Kenya with Arocha Kenya, a conservation organization involved in community-based conservation initiatives. This experience sparked her interest in the intersection of conservation and community development. Spending time in Tanzania with friends in Arusha further deepened her connection with the land, and the power in transforming communities by working with, and empowering its leaders.

Her training is in psychotherapy, and she is particularly interested in systemic and eco-therapy, supporting a holistic and multifaceted approach to the restoration and transformation of individuals, organisations and societies. Rebecca’s private counselling practice reflects her passion in facilitating others on their journey of healing and restoration. Rebecca’s commitment to her field is evident in her academic pursuits. She holds a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and is currently in the final stages of completing an MA in Therapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy. As an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), she has demonstrated her dedication to professional standards. Her past work as a counsellor with Kinergy, a voluntary organisation specialising in sexual abuse and sexual violence in the UK, has provided her with invaluable experience in this field.

Rebecca’s passion for the restoration of people and the planet has largely been inspired by her international background, where she has witnessed diverse cultural approaches to community development, and living within an innovative community setting, where she has experienced firsthand the power of collective action. Rebecca’s love for nature has influenced her increasing understanding of nature’s significance in humanity’s ability to thrive and the importance of its protection in cultivating a healthy world.
