Elom Acku Alfonso

Collaborating Architect

Ms. Elom Acku Alfonso is a chartered architect with eleven years of quality experience developing new and remodeling projects. She is a skilled visionary with the utmost understanding of working to budgets, timelines, and the overall functionality of architectural structures. Acku is an excellent team player whose design influence stems from her interest in sustainability, green architecture, environmental psychology, and tropical modernism.

Aside from creating unique buildings as a licensed architect, she is currently the founder of AQQU Studio. This firm explores African-inspired product design, fabrication of contemporary Afrocentric interior furniture, and collection of historic homeware pieces. Her recent interior product design project has seen her traveling into some remote regions of Ghana, discovering and networking with craft traders such as glassblowers, brass molders, pottery, woodworkers, etc., having worked with clients such as the GRA, GLICO, Senegalese Embassy in Ghana, and others. Her aim as an architect is to ensure that her projects are innovative, beautiful, responsive, and accessible to people regardless of their situational differences.
