Dr. Kenneth Gyamerah

African Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Education Policy

Kenneth is an educationist and researcher with over ten years of experience working across three continents. He received his Ph.D from the Faculty of Education, Queen’s University, Canada. Kenneth holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana, and a Master of Science in Education Policy and International Development from the University of Bristol, UK. He is a Chevening Scholar and an IDRC International Doctoral Research recipient.

Kenneth’s scholarship and research focus on critical curriculum and policy issues, African Indigenous knowledge systems, comparative and international education, and teacher education. He is a member-at-large of the Comparative and International Education Society of Canada (CIESC). He is currently a Senior Research Coordinator at the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) – Canada’s largest public-school board. In this role, Kenneth is dedicated to researching and supporting initiatives related to shaping education policy and practice, curriculum development, and amplifying the voices of underrepresented youth in Canadian K-12 education.
